About FACT

Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation Inc.,
generally referred to as FACT, is a non-profit organization formed in 2005 to improve mobility for seniors, persons with disabilities, veterans, low income individuals, and other disadvantaged populations in San Diego County.

In 2006, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) designated FACT as the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (CTSA)

Consolidated Transportation Service Agency (CTSA)

CTSA is a designation under state law, that promotes optimization of resources and operations dedicated to specialized transportation services with a view to improving mobility, while reducing waste and duplication of services.

Under the CTSA agreement with SANDAG, FACT provides a number of services, including transportation referrals by telephone, website referrals, administering the Council on Access and Mobility (CAM), and conducting training workshops on topical issues related to mobility.

FACT created an in-house transportation brokerage in 2011 and launched a brokerage-based transportation service named RideFACT. RideFACT is an affordable curb-to-curb transportation service for seniors and people with disabilities in a limited service area. In 2012, FACT expanded RideFACT to serve all 18 cities in San Diego County.

FACT is the only nonprofit agency providing special-needs rides throughout San Diego County, fulfilling the CTSA objective of closing gaps between all other transportation services operating in the County.
