Out & About Vista Volunteer Driver Service

Out & About Vista was formed to enhance lives and promote independence and self-sufficiency among senior citizens of Vista by providing affordable and accessible transportation throughout the community.. Volunteer hours and availability vary each week. Routine medical appointments made 7 days in advance are given priority. All other appointments will be accommodated based on driver availability. The program also offers a mileage reimbursement program for volunteer drivers. Transportation is via private vehicle and travel may exceed city limits. Each Out & About rider is limited to 150 travel miles with volunteers per month. Please Note Volunteer drivers with personal vehicles may not accommodate wheelchairs/some walkers Riders will be notified at least 24 hours in advance if an appointment cannot be accommodated.  Fares: Less than 20 miles: $6.00, 20 miles or more $12.00.
